Palm Beach International is one of the easiest airports in the country to use, if you know how it works. This guide covers the commercial terminal, the private-aviation side and the realistic drive times across Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie Counties.
Commercial terminal pickups
PBI has one terminal with concourses A, B and C. Baggage claim is on the lower level, and commercial pre-arranged ground transportation picks up at the designated area outside baggage claim. A chauffeur can meet you inside at baggage claim with a sign, or curbside. Tell your provider which you prefer when you book.
Private aviation at PBI
Three FBOs serve PBI: Signature Aviation, Atlantic Aviation and Jet Aviation. Each has its own entrance off the airport's perimeter roads, separate from the terminal. Ground transportation providers who work the FBOs regularly can usually position planeside with FBO permission; others must wait in the lobby. Give your provider the FBO name and tail number.
Drive times from PBI
Add 15 to 25 minutes during season (January through April) and on event days.
- Palm Beach (island): 15 minutes
- West Palm Beach downtown: 10 minutes
- Wellington: 25 minutes
- Boca Raton: 35 minutes
- Jupiter: 30 minutes
- Stuart: 45 minutes
- Port St. Lucie: 60 minutes
Avoiding the common problems
Rideshare at PBI means a walk to a shared lot and a stranger's car. Taxi lines move slowly in season. Prearranged chauffeur service with flight tracking removes the waiting entirely: the vehicle is positioned when the flight lands, not when the traveler calls.
